Indian Air Force Confirms All Pilots Safe Amid Reports of Combat Losses

“Losses are a part of combat " IAF spokesperson

New Delhi, May 11 – The Indian Air Force (IAF) has stated that while operational losses are an inherent part of aerial combat, all of its pilots have safely returned home following recent engagements along the India-Pakistan border.

Responding to media inquiries about potential losses during the week’s military activity, an IAF spokesperson emphasized, “Losses are a part of combat,” but declined to provide specific details regarding aircraft or mission outcomes.

Earlier this week, a spokesperson for Pakistan’s military claimed that five Indian aircraft were downed during the confrontation. However, Indian defense authorities have not confirmed these assertions.

Sources within the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir told Reuters that three fighter jets reportedly crashed on the same day India announced targeted strikes on nine Pakistani locations identified as terrorist infrastructure.

Despite the high-stakes tensions, the IAF reassured the public that all its personnel involved in the operations had returned safely, underlining the professionalism and resilience of its aircrews.

India's recent military actions and Pakistan’s counterclaims highlight the ongoing volatility in the region, raising concerns over escalation and the need for strategic restraint.
